ETA Canada (Electronic Travel Authorization)
ETA (Electronic Travel Authorization) is a requirement for visa-exempt foreign nationals who wish to travel to Canada. Travelers must obtain this authorization by providing relevant information online, including travel details.
The purpose of travel should be tourism, visiting family or friends, attending events or meetings, or conducting business activities (excluding seeking profit).
1.Starting March 15, 2016, an ETA is mandatory for foreigners entering Canada from visa-exempt countries. Travelers without a valid ETA or visa will not be permitted to board a plane to Canada. (You do not need an ETA if you have a valid visa. Conversely, you do not need a visa if you have a valid ETA.)
2.There are certain (temporary) ETA-exempt countries among the visa-exempt countries mentioned above. If your country is exempt from the ETA requirement, a notification will appear during your application process indicating the exemption, but you may still choose to apply.
3.Check if your country (nationality) is eligible for an ETA using the form below.
** Exceptions: ▷ Holders of UN passports, ABTC holders, USFK service members, aircraft and ship crew members, and transfer passengers are not required to apply for an ETA. ▷ Diplomatic or official passport holders are not required to apply for an ETA. ▷ETA requirements will be temporarily exempted for travelers from 22 countries from April 1, 2023, to December 31, 2023. |
How to apply
– You can apply for your ETA on the official Canadian government website or through our services.
– It is recommended to apply for an ETA at least 72 hours to one week before your flight to Canada.
– Your application may be filled out by proxy.
– You can apply for up to 30 people at once.

Check the result
– You can check the result within 72 hours after applying via email or on the official website. If you choose to apply through our service, we will keep you informed of each update to your application.

Period of validity
– The period of validity is 5 years from the date of authorization.

Re-application
– Please note that the information entered cannot be modified once the application is submitted. You must re-apply for an ETA even if your current ETA is still valid, in case you entered incorrect information or if your information has changed, such as your name, sex, date of birth, nationality, passport information (passport number or expiration date), criminal history, or health information.
Exempt from arrival card
– Those who have the authorized ETA are exempted from filling out the arrival card upon arrival.
